We had so much fun!
Sam got to come with us too.

A guy named Mayer Hawthorne opened and Janelle Monae also performed.

On Memorial Day we took Kari Ann, Keven, and Jaylee hiking in Heil Valley Ranch on the other side of Longmont. These are the pictures Kari Ann took.

End of School

Another school year is over.
I can't believe I now have a second grader and a kindergartner.
Time is flying by!

The last week of school Kayla had field day.
She had a blast playing all of the games. Her favorite was the tug-of-war.

At the end of the day they got soaked from the fire truck.

The first graders also put on a Folk Dance Open House.
We got to see all of the dances that they have been learning in PE this year.

Kayla getting her grove on!

Kayla doing the Chicken Dance with a friend from her class.

Alyssa graduated from Preschool!
They had a cute little graduation where they sang a song and received diplomas.

To celebrate the last day of school we took the girls out to Chuck-E-Cheese.

Easter and Other Happenings

This year I tried my hand at sewing and I made the girls their easter skirts. They turned out okay, as long as you don't look close at the hems. :-)
(I didn't realize when we took the picture that Kayla's skirt was caught on the step. My sewing is not that bad!)
Kayla had a piece of art she did chosen for the district art show that was at the mall. She loves to draw and is getting better by the day. I'm excited to see what she can do as she gets older.

Kayla finally lost her first tooth last week. She was eating an apple and it just fell out!
This is Joe's project.
He is working really hard on our garden this year. He built square foot boxes and he started all of our plants from seeds in our basement. I'm looking forward to all of the yummy stuff! I will probably have to learn how to can this summer so we don't waste any.

Cats

I just had to post this picture. I love my cats. I call them my furry children. They have become best friends. They leave fur everywhere and their cat box stinks, but I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Spring Break Days 1-4

We finally got to take the girls to Disneyland. It was well worth the wait and we all had a great time.
Day 1: We woke up really early to hit the road. We expected the girls to go back to sleep, but of course they didn't. We drove from home to Las Vegas. It was about a 13 hour drive.
We stopped at In-n-Out in St. George UT. The girls were not impressed. Kayla said it just tasted like any old hamburger. In Vegas Joe tried his luck on the slot machines. He lost $10. That is why Joe doesn't gamble. :-)

Day 2-On Sunday we woke up and drove to CA and we met Danny for lunch at Vince's Spaghetti. It was good to get a chance to see him and eat where Grandma L. used to take us all of the time. The food was not as good as I remember but it was fun.
After lunch we went and saw Uncle Jeddie and Aunt Delcie. Derek and his family showed up too.
After that we headed down to Garden Grove and checked into our hotel.
Day 3 - The girls the morning we went to Disneyland. They were so excited!
Minnie Mouse was the only character we took the time to meet. The girls were a little shy and didn't really care to get close to any of them. That was just fine with us because it saved us a lot of time. The line to see Rapunzel had a wait for over an hour. Tinker Bell was even longer. Definitely not worth it.
In Minnie's house.
We had to get a Mickey shaped pretzel for a snack.
Aly driving on Autopia. I think I have a case of whiplash now.
Kayla in the drivers seat.

Captain EO - The best show at Disneyland!
Tea Cups

Carousel

Waiting to get on Matterhorn, her favorite ride.
Instead of the light parade, Disneyland has Fantasmic. Is was awesome! They had fireworks, lasers, music, character's dancing. It was such a fun show.

Day 4- California Adventure
We rode every ride at the park that the girls could. (The roller coaster was the only one that we couldn't do.) Aly even went on the Tower of Terror ride. She loved it!

Kayla was being silly while we waited in line.

Adventures has a show called 'World of Color.' We were able to get fast passes that allowed us to sit up pretty close. The whole show was with water, lasers, projection, and music. It was another amazing show. We even got a little wet. I couldn't get any good pictures of it but during the show the Mickey Mouse Ferris Wheel was changing colors with the music.
